Like the Surface of the Moon
And so we say the stone gets ground down to sand its surface like the Moon covered only in dust and memories We can wait and see the stone as it was not as it will be I cling to it with my fingers as the edge starts to crumble This grinding wears on me now Has worn a horn to a nub to a stub And so we say the stone can weather all things and survive And I told myself in sixes that the spirit was being plowed under Fall away like weak stone and ash Fall away like the surface of the Moon
