Tree With Birdhouse
This injury on my side doesn't even attract life-- a hole attached to my torso by holes and nothing wants to fill the void-- not bees not birds not even mud wasps The fragile skin hardens to bark around it The light no longer enters-- the rays of sun dappled through leaves like hair Nothing comes to play Nothing stays I fade away I grow and the wound gets smaller but it doesn't close
